I’m always on the lookout for new snacks to stay healthy on-the-go and keep my energy levels up, and The Primal Pantry is amazing for this. They sell mixed boxes of 18 bars and each one is the perfect energy boost. My favourite one is probably the cherry and brazil nut one as I love brazil nuts – I find they have a much gentler taste than most other nuts. They’re also suitable for paleo, vegans, gluten free and sugar free diets so anyone can enjoy them.
I know I mentioned Scaramanga last month, but if you follow me on Instagram you’ll have seen the giveaway I ran to win one of these leather portfolio cases. I love all of their products, but there’s something about the portfolio case that makes me feel incredibly stylish and sophisticated. I can’t wait to be able to use it as a laptop case when I go to college and show it off in my Scaramanga tote bag!
Raw chocolate is the one thing I can’t resist if I know it’s in the house, especially at Easter time. The lovely Rawr and Conscious Chocolate sent me some of their bars to try and they 100% lived up to my raw chocolate expectations. Conscious chocolate use coconut cream in their bars which make for the dreamiest creamiest bars you’ll ever taste – the pieces literally just melt in your mouth. My favourite of theirs in absolutely the Orange flavour – it reminds me of a chocolate orange which is something I never thought I’d be able to replicate after giving up sugar, but luckily I can. Rawr do so many different flavours and I’ve always liked their mint one (think after8 but healthy) and their goji and vanilla one is pretty amazing inside bananas cooked over a bbq – I thoroughly recommend trying it!
If you’re anything like me, then your energy levels drop very quickly very easily. I’ve tried making energy balls before, but never found a flavour combination I actually liked. The Protein Ball Co were lovely enough to send me some of their vegan coconut and goji protein balls which at first I was slightly apprehensive (having never really liked energy bites) but can now honestly say I love and would eat any time of day. The flavours just work so well and they have turned out to be the best snack I could ask for as they’ve stopped the before lunch headaches I was getting as my energy is replenished. I haven’t tried any of their other flavours as they contain whey and egg white protein which I don’t eat (I follow a plant based diet) but I’m sure they’d be yummy too.
When I started getting into a cleaner way of living, I decided to look for natural beauty products where I could (I’m still to find makeup that works). Faith in Nature are the best natural soap products I’ve found – their shampoos and conditioners are so nourishing to use and their shower gel is not only a great soap, but makes the BEST bubble bath. I’m a coconut addict and their coconut range has me in heaven whenever I use it – I haven’t actually tried any of their other scents but if they’re anything like the coconut ones, I know they’ll be good.
For me, March is a month of transition from winter into spring. Pukka are my current favourite brand of herbal teas as they just have such a range of flavours that there’s always something to fit whatever mood I’m in. At the beginning of the month I was obsessed with their Blackcurrant Beauty – it reminded me of hot Ribena (I always used to have it if I was ill) but without the sugar so it doesn’t leave your teeth feeling horrible. Right now I’m loving their Detox with Lemon tea because it really does feel like spring in a cup.
The books I read this month are:
- Red Witch by Anna McKerrow
- Flawed by Cecelia Ahern
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
- Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas
While I didn’t read a huge amount of books this month, it was probably the best month of reading I’ve EVER had! All the books I read were 5/5 stars and two of them were released in March – you can read my review for Red Witch here and my review for Flawed here. I also discovered the Throne of Glass series this month, after giving into the hype of my Instagram feed and (bearing in mind I’ve never said this before) it’s my all-time favourite series and I’ve only read two of the books so far. It’s just so unbelievably amazing and Sarah J Maas has a way of creating some pretty incredible characters in a fantasy world filled with dystopian elements. Look out for my review of the series so far (there are more books still to come – yay!) which will be coming to the blog sometime soon.
I was sent some of these amazing products by companies to be able to share with you, but that in no way sways my view of them, and I would only share products that I genuinely love. If you have a company with products related to the life of a bookworm that you’d like to see featured, don’t hesitate to get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
